Random Missed Moments & Castiel

Had a great Easter in Fond du Lac. I just wanted to share a couple of pictures.

I love that photo, I think Grandpa looks more excited than the boys : )

Here's some smiles from the boys.

The "big" kids got their turn too!

My dad said that Cameron didn't stop asking him questions the whole time, and that he could be heard over the engine . . . that's Cam.

The only tears came from Emmitt when the tractor was put away. Emmitt would ride around on it all day if Grandpa let him. And I was proud of Castiel for taking a ride, I don't think he rode on it all last summer because he was afraid of it.

And since the last post was Emmitt, I thought I'd share some things about Castiel.

Castiel is singing under his breath all the time, this is his song of choice.

Sometimes it clearer then others. I think he gets a little nervous in front of the camera.

Castiel is little. Not overly little, but little compared to Emmitt. Emmitt is the tough guy that is gentle as a teddy bear (most of the time) and Castiel is the little guy who is my scrappy little fighter. I can see it coming, because there is a change in his face. It's like aggression takes over. Trully, I believe he thinks his huge : )

Well, I've been able to handle the aggression. It can be stopped and he is put in time out.

This is something that I can't seem to get him to stop. (Notice the sweet face :$)

The other thing about Castiel, is that he likes things done for him. All I hear from Emmitt is "I do it", but Castiel says "Help please".

He's finally starting to do some things on his own, but still will quickly allow me to help.

They are really seeming big to me lately. It's a combination of their demand for independence and the new words coming out of their mouths daily.

Castiel's new favorites, "Oh man!" and "Thumbs up." and he's still saying "Dude!"

And on to Zoe.

Zoe had another band concert and she was with the 5th graders this time. She had caught up enough first semester to be moved up, which she was very happy about.

I know, not the best photo.

And the video is worse.

As all parents know, these venues fill up fast with families. Sinces we are a family of 7, we have to be early, otherwise seats are impossible to find.

So we got there early, and the twins were DONE basically before the concert started, ugh. See, the thing is, I totally have the patience for them in these situations, KC does not.

This is how I kept Emmitt under control for the last song.

He was in charge of taking the video.

KC said that we are never taking them again : )

The best part was when he decided to start singing "We will, we will, rock you." and no, that wasn't the song they were playing : )

Oh well, the concert was great and Zoe is enjoying the flute.

I think I'm caught up a little.

And the rainy days must stop, the kids want to go back outside and play!!! And I want them to too : )

You Have To Beware When They Are Quiet!

I enjoy times of quiet, as a mother, they are often few and far between.

The boys have been playing so well and building such great imaginations lately.

I invested quite a lot of money into Little People, because I love them. The twins are starting to love them and spend their day carrying them around and setting them up. Emmitt is even starting to talk for the people and animals. So cute to watch!

With imaginations, often come messes. A mother has to beware when the quiet is too quiet.

Emmitt's imagination went a little too far . . .

I don't know why he suddenly decided to bury 3 people in my plant and fill the bus with dirt, but he did.

I wasn't too happy with this, and yes, it happened again this morning . . .

But it's moments like this that make it okay  : )

The kid has perfected saying "sorry" and "i love you" at just the right moments.

What's Better than the Zoo?

The last couple of days have been our weekend. With KC working retail, we usually have him a couple of days during the week, instead of the busy bike selling weekend.

So today was our big day, and what is better than the zoo to kids : )
The boys are at the perfect age for the zoo. We saw so much excitement throughout the day. Their noses as close to the glass as they could get them. I pulled them off of the fence barricades all day long. Tried to keep them from pounding on the glass and keep them quiet when signs were posted.

But with three boys, we were only successful 33.3% of the time. One of the three was constantly climbing, pounding and yelling with excitement.

Here's Emmitt caught red-headed.
It's hard to get him to stop when he gets the reaction he was looking for.
Lots of fun found throughout the day. One of the animals were hard to miss, because they were everywhere! Peacocks, Audrey's favorite : )
They were wandering the walkways, right along with us and in with many of the other animals.

It really is a beautiful bird.
My favorite has always been the Polar Bears. It's from a childhood memory at the very same zoo, watching them swim under the water. I've always found it to be magical watching such a huge animal swimming so gracefully. I was a little bummed that they didn't feel like swimming today.
I loved watching the kids enjoy the animals all day.

Couple of cute things that happened throughout the day.

Castiel loved the pacing Cheetah. Back and forth the Cheetah went, and back and forth Castiel went.

The girls had a little argument over this.

Zoe thought it was black with white stripes, but Audrey thought it was white with black stripes, LOL.
They can never agree on anything. . . . .

Cameron LOVED the Aviary House. I have to confess, I was too busy ducking to take any photographs. The girls liked to even less than I. Audrey thought a bird targeted her and swooped at her head. Cameron was so excited, he told me all day long how much he loved the birds. I think he loved it because there weren't barriers, we were part of the exhibit  : )

Emmitt had a break through.

Look at the pride on his face. The first grate that he has walked over himself. He has always walked around them in the past. He actually stopped at this one and thought about it, and then just decided he was going to do it. KC missed it. I said "Emmitt show daddy what you just did!" and he went back to walk over it again . . . he got high fives and cheers from the whole family . . . I sure anyone that may have seen us, thought we were nuts.

We didn't head to the zoo until nearly 11am, so we totally destroyed the boys nap time. They did great. Wanted to walk everywhere and didn't slow down all day.

Emmitt even wanted to push Audrey : )
We had to be careful, because we didn't buckle them. They were in and out of that stroller all day. A couple of times Emmitt saw something that he wanted to take a closer look at and he'd launch out of the moving stroller without warning. Only fell on his face once : )
And probably the coolest thing we got to see . . . . actually hear, a roaring Lion right in front of us.
He was so loud. That's something you don't see every day. Emmitt was roaring the rest of the day.

Long day. Fun day.

Thought it was going to be an early bedtime, but they all got a second wind and made it until 8:30pm.

I love the zoo, and I love that my kids love the zoo  : )

Kid Update

Just thought I'd do a little update on all the kids.

Zoe. She's so good, but definitely a moody pre-teen. It's so annoying. I hate the rolling of the eyes. The big sighs. The looks of "are you kidding me". It's all happening way too often now.

KC gave her his old iPod and set up a free texting program. Almost all her friends seem to have their own phones. We were told by a friend that his daughter basically only texted her friends. So hopefully this will keep her happy for a while.

And it gives me something to take away from her when she's being impossible : )

She went to her first middle school dance. She told me how she just had to go, basically compared it to social suicide if she didn't go. On the way home, she told me her friends decided that they would have their own get-together during the next dance, because there was too much adult supervision and they weren't allowed to be where they wanted. I guess they wanted to stand in the hallway? What?!? Who is this kid? Whatever. I'm sure when the next dance is scheduled, they'll happily go back.

In school, Zoe did a report on Ida B. Wells for Black History month. She had to put together a poster that showed a summary of who Ida was. She happened to be the first person that looked into the statistics of lynching.

I watched her tear up trying to find pictures for her poster. It's something that I struggled between protecting her from the images and teaching her about that ugly period of America's history. She cringed at the images, as did I . . . and as the tears came, she insisted that none of that was going to go on her poster. Which I agreed it was way to much. The image of the noose hanging from a tree was bad enough. We kept it at that.

It's so hard to figure out what to shelter her from at this point. This time I chose to cringe with her and then teach her something at the same time. It was a "we can't change the past, but we have to learn from it" teaching moment.

I love seeing Zoe sweat. Zoe is a sit, read a book kind of girl. She is rarely running. So for her to be all red-faced playing indoor field hockey, it's sort of surreal. But she enjoys it. She was in a 7 week clinic and was taught all the basics. I was so happy when she said she wanted to stick with it. There is a summer outdoor camp that we'll be signing her up for. So happy she found a sport she enjoys.

Audrey has started reading the Harry Potter series. She just finished the second book. She has resembled Zoe lately, relaxing on a patio chair, enjoying the sun, with her nose in a book. I think that she's proud of herself because they are such big books, she's always announcing "I'm on page 266 mom!"

She announced that she want to teach the twins to speak in the third person like Dobby. She thinks it would be cute. The girls get talking in the third person. Kind of cute, kind of annoying.

The girls have a 'on again, off again' kind of relationship. They seem to be getting along a little better these days. Audrey happily came down all ready for school with her hair all pulled up cute. I told her that she looked adorable and told her she did a great job on her hair. "Zoe did it for me."

That's definitely a first, and I hope there is a lot more of it to follow : )

Audrey has to make a pinball machine over Spring Break. She seems a little frustrated about the project and I told her it was supposed to be fun. I assigned the job of creation to KC, it'll be good for the two of them to do the project together, and he is better at the practical.

When I help with things like that, the project always gets to elaborate and pretty, which Audrey doesn't have the patience for. I don't blame her, she's a just get it done kind of girl.

But I'll have pretty paper and Mod Podge ready and waiting if she wants it.

Cameron is at that age where he talks way too much and say things that he shouldn't.

No secrets are safe. Nothing that is said around him is safe. Nothing that happens in our home is safe. He just spews all. And feels the need to talk to everyone. Ugh.

It's so bad that I'm starting to fear him talking in public. I want to just place a big piece of duct tape across that mouth. I've started just telling him "That's too much information Cameron!"

And at the same time, he brings so much laughter into our lives right now.

Example of his unpredictable 4 year old mouth: He was drawing a picture of me with crayons. He was making sure that he was getting everything right. He checked out the color of my eyes and found the right crayon. He told me that he didn't want to use black for my hair, so he asked if it was okay to give me red hair. And then he didn't like the "skin" color because it was too light, so he asked if he could make me purple. He wanted to count my teeth, but said he didn't have enough room for them all and asked if 10 were enough. He got done with my face and then was staring me down and said "clothes are really hard to draw, can I draw you naked because circles are so much easier." LOL, I told him that I would prefer that he put clothes on me. "Okay" he said, like it was no big deal.

I can only imagine what he says all day at school . . . I don't even want to know.

School is going great. He is finally enjoying his pre-school. He is making friends and talking about them. We had to force him to go all first semester. The teacher said "wow, he's really talking now." cringe, I told her that she finally had the real Cameron then, because he never stops talking : )

And he is loving speech class. He adores his teacher. He has the "K" sound down and has moved onto the "G" sound. He was so excited to be on "G" because it's for the Packers . . .

Emmitt is so stubborn, but so lovable at the same time. He is loving the weather and being outside. He has figured out that the sidewalk in front of our house slants slightly from left to right. He goes to the left on his little push-n-go rider, turns it around and goes as fast as he can and then lifts up his legs and coasts down. He gets going so fast. It made me really nervous at first, but he seems to know what he is doing.
After I took this video, we worked on boundary rules.

The twins and I brought dinner to KC at work and ate with him there on Saturday night. He's been swamped selling lots of bikes because of all the beautiful weather. In Springtime, we see less of him because it's his busiest season.

We gave the boys their first taste of Shamrock shakes. Emmitt's mouth clamped onto the straw and he didn't want to give it up. He sucked down at least a half of a large shake all on his own. We hung out there for a little bit, but then we had to get out of daddy's way, so he could come home at some time that night. The boys thought differently and didn't want to get off the trikes to leave.

Emmitt took off around the other bikes in the showroom. He clipped one bike that tipped over and started tipping over the next bike . . . and would have if mommy wouldn't have saved it. As I was straightening the bikes, I told Emmitt that we were leaving. He giggled, sat down and ripped the Crocs off his feet, stood up and toke off toward the back of the store barefoot. I had to laugh, because he was aware of the fact he would never outrun me in those oversized, handy-down shoes. He's really too smart for his own good.

He is seriously naughty. But he does naughty so dang cute : )

Castiel has been shooting hoops. We have one of those little basketball hoops on our back patio and he just shoots and shoots and shoots. Sometimes he asks me to raise the rim, but if he misses too many in a row, he get frustrated and tells me to lower it back down. It's so cute.

He still acts so much younger than Emmitt. He's a whiner. I have to constantly tell him to use his words, because he usually chooses to cry instead. The words he does say are so clear. He is actually much easier to understand than Emmitt, when he chooses to talk.

He is still my little comedian. He enjoys being funny. If he trips and falls and somebody laughs, he'll through himself back on the ground another twenty times. He giggles when I say "That's not funny Castiel" and does a sassy dance and says "Ha, Ha, Ha-ha, Ha". He sticks his tongues out a lot and thinks he's hilarous when he does . . . I'm trying to stop that one.

Totally random, but he loves putting socks on his hands like mittens. He always seems to have a pair on. I don't mind, except for the fact it's usually a dirty pair that were pulled off the girl's feet after a long day at school. Yuck! He screams when I take them away and hand a clean pair. When I'm doing laundry and find a pair of socks shoved full of toys, I know who did it  : )

I think the kid is lacking some sleep. All my kids have been sleepers, except for Emmitt. Emmitt wakes up with the sun. Many mornings when I go to get him, Castiel is still laying in bed, but he's too young to roll over and go back to sleep. Instead he'll rolls out of bed. I figure that poor boy would get a couple more hours of sleep if he wasn't Emmitt's twin. I'm sure at some point, he will just roll over and sleep longer.

And I'm happy to announce . . . I have two potty trained boys.

They are not perfect yet . . . that'll take a little while I'm sure. But they've been going on the potty for four days now. At about 4pm on day two, I heard "I have to go potty" from Castiel. YAY! It's been all uphill from there. And I did use Castiel against my stubborn Emmitt a few times, which was extremely helpful.

Day 1: I pumped them full of Apple Juice and taught them the difference between wet and dry. I attempted to get them to go potty on the potty as often as possible. We went through 7 pairs of undies and washed my kitchen floor constantly.

Day 2: Drank regular. So peed less often. Still had them on the potty every 20 minutes, unless they peed successfully, then I put them back on at about 40 minutes. It seemed to click for them both about 4pm, and then I just gave them reminders. "Does anyone have to go potty?" We went through 3 pairs of undies.

Day 3: Boys both woke up dry and went right to the potty and went. I was shocked. Then they figured out the candy reward system. They were barely going, getting a piece of candy, and then going a little more and getting more candy. I had to change the reward system at that point. But I figure that showed pretty good bladder control.

We also ran an errand and I put Pull-ups on them. On the way home, in the middle of nowhere, Castiel "I have to go poopy"... nothing I could do and he cried. That was the first tears shed over going in a diaper, so they are aware that it is wrong now.

Day 4: Going on the potty all day. A couple dribbles here and there, but no puddles.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've said, "Do you have to go potty?" and "Push it down!" in the past four days, LOL.

And I know that this is long from over, but so glad that I've made it this far. I'm hoping that by the time the girls are out of school, I am trusting them : )  It'll make summer so much nicer for all of us . . . and so much cheaper.

Words learned this week: wet, dry and flush  : )

Four Day Weekend With the Kids

It actually felt like a six day weekend.

KC left for his annual ice fishing weekend with the guys on Thursday. It makes the days longer for me, but the kids were great and we kept really busy.

Glad the boys had fun, but I'm also glad it's only once a year.

It's great for KC to spend time with his dad, which I know he enjoys. I enjoy the fact that in about 10 years (maybe less) all four of the boys will make the trip, leaving me and the girls for a quiet weekend!

Is it bad that I'm looking down the road 10 years already?

•     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •

The twins were evaluated for a headstart program at the elementary school. They were both accepted based on being premature and under 5 pounds at birth. Having them tested gave me some relief that they are doing great.

It's hard for me to judge them, because comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges. They do everything a little differently . . . one better than the other, one faster than the other, one clearer than the other . . . but to know that they are both on the right track is comforting.

And both the boys are sooooo excited about going to "school". I love it! To have their own school to go to is very exciting to them, especially when they see their big sisters and brother going.

Their first class with other children is tomorrow. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Side note: Castiel suddenly is favoring his left hand. I am left-handed, so is my father and father-in-law, and none of my children seemed to be carrying on that trait. Then out of nowhere, Castiel is throwing a ball left-handed, and well . . . I may just have one afterall. We shall see.

We kinda laid low over the four day weekend. A couple of playdates, library, field hockey, and a shopping trip to Menard's which I'm sure looked like a mini field trip to others.

The twins are now at a point where they are wanting to walk.

Now this task is difficult with one, I know because I've been through that 3 times. And I knew it was coming, I just shoved them into the cart as long as I possibly could.

Emmitt started walking next to the cart about a month ago on a regular basis. He does well, but if he sees something "shiny" or whatever, his ears turn off and he no longer hears me saying, "hand on the cart". Luckily, Castiel had no interest and I gladly put him in the cart.

This weekend was the first time they both insisted on being free. Slight panic, but they have to practice to learn.

My rules are simple. Keep a hand on the cart or you're going back in. The first few minutes were sketchy. It was a lot of me putting their hands back on the cart and explaining the rules.

I was proud of how well they did, and proud of me for leaving with all four of my children. (Zoe was at field hockey practice :)  )

Kids pulled out Disney Bingo to play with the boys. I thought they were crazy, but the boys shocked me and played a few games and even made it through a black out board.

I'm guessing we got this game from Aunt Bobbie. It's a DVD that plays short movie clips and all the squares have Disney characters on them, I think that's what kept the boys interested. Castiel actually cried a couple of times, when he didn't have some of his favorite characters on his card.

I love when they start playing games. Let the games begin!

Happy Valentine's Day

I love these kids with all my heart!

Zoe . . . I love that you aren't afraid of being yourself. Remember to stay strong and be yourself always, because you are perfect just the way you are.

Audrey . . . I love your spunk. You are silly and happy, and you make people smile. It's a special gift to put a smile on someone's face.

Cameron . . . You have always had my heart from the moment you were born. You are loving and full of imagination. Everything a four year old should be.

Emmitt . . . I can always count on you for a hug to warm my heart. Stay sweet my only cuddle bug.

Castiel . . . You are quick with a smile and your love of laughter can get us all going. Keep laughing my giggle monster.

I am lucky to be your mother and I look forward to our years ahead. Watching you grow up is my greatest gift.

I know that their love will grow into friendships that will last their entire lives.

And they'll always have each other to love and be loved.

I am lucky enough to have a husband that is more than a father . . . he's a daddy. The throw balls in the house, tackle you to the floor, read a book, cook dinner, sing a song at the top of his lungs, thinks he's a wise guy, Just Dance champion, watch cartoons every morning, gives mommy bunny ears behind her back, huggable, lovable kind of daddy.

I am lucky to have a man like him to share my life with and to raise these precious children together. (Feb 13th, 13 years ago he propose to me . . . 13 has been a lucky number in our life together . . . here's to a start of a special year)

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! I love all of you soooo much  <3   <3   <3   <3   <3   <3   <3   <3   <3   <3

If you are wondering, if I want a photo shoot, I bribe them and somehow Emmitt ended up with 2  : )

Boys Playing in the Snow

Huge fluffy snowflakes fell most of the day. It looked like we were in a snow globe. It was a beautiful day . . . cold, but that's what winter is supposed to be.

Castiel didn't like the big flakes falling in his face, but KC got Emmitt to face the sky and open his mouth : )

Emmitt is a snow eater. I think he thinks it falls from the sky for him to gobble up. It may be gross, but freshly fallen snow, what's the real harm. I know he's eaten worse things off the ground . . .

Cameron did the same thing. At that same age, he would go out into a snowbank and sit down to just eat snow.

KC and Cameron spent the afternoon playing Disney Universe on the Wii. The twins woke up just as they decided to go out to shovel the snow.

Emmitt wasn't letting them go outside without him.

This was his first time in snow pants and boots, and he didn't mind a bit if it meant going outside.

Castiel wasn't interested and stayed by me, until he saw them walking across the back yard. He freaked and tried opening the patio door.

So I suited him up. I realized just recently that I only had one pair of boots that would fit them. So Castiel, being the second out, got plastic bags on his feet and a pair of shoes. It kept his feet dry  : )

They played until they were all red in the face.

When we forced them in, especially Emmitt, I had hot chocolate waiting . . . actually more of a warm chocolate  :)  The twins first hot chocolate, and they loved it!

My project planned for the day was Zoe's side of the closet. There is just too much in there, and I know that she doesn't wear it all.

We easily went through her hanging clothes, so we moved onto the dresser. That went smoothly so we went through the drawer under her bed, treasure boxes, jewelry and headbands.

We were finished and it was only dinnertime. I couldn't believe how fast we were able to go through everything.

So after dinner, I looked at Audrey and she immediately threw a fit.

I asked her if she could just go through her hanging clothes with me and she unhappily started picking out her favorites.

And then she shockingly was helping me with more then I had planned.

By bedtime, their room was done.

I wish I would have taken a picture of this side of the room, because it was worse than the closet.

Yay! One room done, a couple of happy girls and a VERY happy mommy  : )

I removed 5 trash bags of clothes and shoes, so now they have room to move and places to put everything away.

I didn't plan on getting so much done today, but when kids are being cooperative, you just have to take advantage!

Too Busy to Blog

I know that I've been slacking on my blogs.

Just been too busy . . . here's a little recap.

I spent 10 hours on one of KC's days off going through the mountain of boxes in our bedroom. It's still a mess. I am trying to figure out what stays and what goes. It's obvious that we have too much, and it's slow going. But I am trying to make some progress daily.

I did manage to reduce my shoes from 48 pairs to 26  : ) I was afraid of reducing by too much and then feel the need to go shopping . . .

KC was a huge help and watched the boys for me the entire day. At dinnertime I introduced him to Pinterest. He made dinner from one of the recipes  :)  He wasn't as interested in appearing in my blog because of it. I did ask him to smile : )

We agreed that it didn't really feel like a meal to us . . . good, but more of an appetizer recipe. I suggest jalapenos added!

•     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •

Since joining Pinterest, I have felt like I should be buying Ball glass jars. There are so many pins using them. I had stopped myself a couple of times and promised myself that I won't buy them unless I found a project that I was going to use them for.

So I found 3  :)

I have the worst dry skin in the winter. It only improves slightly over the summer. I had all the ingredients expect Vitamin E lotion.

I love it! Noticeable difference already.

I am always paranoid that my house smells like stinky diapers. I am a sucker for the Glade Air Fresheners that can be hidden in every corner.

I thought, why not try and make them.

I already have a bunch of essential oils (from my days when I was going to make soap . . . fail), so all I needed was Gelatin.

Not very impressed by this one. It can only be smelt when shoved under your nose. I may try it one more time and add more oil, I haven't decide yet.

I have waxed to go on extended vacations in the past. So this didn't scare me. The hair on my legs grows back so fast, I'm a every day shaver . . . it sucks.

The recipe is so easy to follow and so cheap! I actually had everything needed in my house already.

I have taken care of my lower legs and haven't had to shave them all week! I'm in love with this one.

True, ankles and the back of the leg . . . OUCH! But I think this one might be worth it.

•     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •     •

And here are a couple more Pinterest projects . . .

Won't do this one again either. It took A LOT longer to bake then the recipe said, and frankly . . . I like regular old French Toast better.

Zoe loved making it, but we'll find something else better.

The Peace sign cake pan is a birthday present. She's excited to make use of it  : )

We love potato soup, so I spent an afternoon making this and then threw it in the slow cooker to simmer for a while. We definitely liked it, but I'll add more to it next time. My mother passed on a different recipe for potato soup, I might give that one a try next, because her and my dad raved over it.

And last, but not least . . . PINTEREST #12: Lip Balm

Just have to say, it's impossible (tried it twice) to completely dissolve the Hawaiian Punch in a sprinkle of water . . . and then you add more water to get it dissolved and it doesn't mix in completely with the Vaseline . . . I may be doing this one wrong, if anyone has some pointers.

We tweaked it and made it work. It is a great balm. Made one for each of us, girls : )

Add in Cameron's speech classes (which is going great and he is loving)

Cameron's regular preschool started up again today

Zoe has officially been moved up to 5th grade band  : )

Zoe also started taking a field hockey clinic. (It's the first time she's showed any interest in trying out a sport and KC & I both quickly said "yes!")

Audrey spent 4 out of 5 days of the school week home with a low grade fever. One of the days was beautiful, over 50 degrees! So we had to spend some of it outside for some much needed fresh air.

Zoe's birthday sleepover  : )

A cousin sleepover  : )

And a surprise visit from all 4 grandparents  : )  Didn't get any pics...

A family birthday party  : )

A 3rd grade Music concert  : )  Audrey!

And the biggest change . . .

To this . . .

And instantly we could see the pride Castiel had for his new bed  : )

Just as easily as we could see Emmitt telling us that we could no longer keep him in.

Night one and two went perfectly . . . too perfectly.

Then night 3, we returned Emmitt to his bed 5 times. And the next morning, when he came into our room with a cookbook in his hand from the kitchen . . .

A baby gate was installed right outside their bedroom door.

For his own good. And our peace of mind  : )

Never a dull moment with a family of 7 and
I wouldn't change it for the world!
